As an experiment, author Maniza Naqvi wrote to a number of writers, asking them for “an ember from your fire”. This could be “a line or two – a paragraph or page – a story, a poem, or a song – anything about anything”.

This volume is the resulting “feast”. It is a compilation of ideas/thoughts without any particular theme. It contains random thoughts of notable litterateurs, such as Bapsi Sidhwa, Mohsin Hamid, Tahira Naqvi, Zulfikar Ghose, Fahmida Riaz, Muneeza Shamsie, H.M. Naqvi, Kishwar Naheed, Aamer Hussein, Uzma Aslam Khan, Siddhartha Deb, Amitava Kumar, and many others. Each contribution has been arranged chronologically by Maniza Naqvi and it is left to the reader to make of each and the whole what they would.
